It was announced on Monday (31Jul17) that Josh will be back as Thanos for the as yet untitled fourth Avengers flick, slated for a 2019 release, by which time he'll have already begun his run as Cable in Fox's Deadpool film franchise opposite Ryan Reynolds' anti-hero. The character will be played by Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) in the forthcoming film, which is now shooting up in Vancouver, Canada with Ryan Reynolds returning as the title character.
With the new costume, could fans expect Domino with different skills, features and character in the movie? And now we have tangible confirmation that the long-rumored character Domino - another peripheral X-character whose low mainstream profile allows her to frequently collaborate with the "Merc with a Mouth" - is set to appear in Deadpool 2 as well. Also, like, come on-Deadpool was a wild romp and totally original in an increasingly crowded genre. Domino has been by time-traveller Cable's side though the comics and in the movie, she will be seen doing the same with Brolin by her side. Her real name was later revealed to be Neena Thurman; her codename comes from her mutant power, which boils down to her being lucky. Strapped to the nines with as many weapons as she could pin to her curvaceous body, her untamed mop of hair and easy confidence immediately bring images of Luke Cage's Misty Knight to mind.
Beetz's depiction is a departure from the comic book in the best way, forgoing Domino's alabaster skin and straight black hair, and going for a Misty Knight-inspired afro look, with the character's trademark tattoo on her left eye.
Zazie Beetz is a relative newcomer to Hollywood.
Domino will be joining the Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 2
I could see where that description might turn you off.
"The recently-held Comic-Con did not give fans any details about "#Deadpool 2" but now #Ryan Reynolds has gifted them a treat.
In the comics, Domino is quite known for having abilities similar to X-Men's Jean Grey. If Domino was just a gun-toting babe treated as arm candy for 'roided out soldier-types, then she probably would have stayed in 1991. She actually made her debut in the same comic as Deadpool, 1991's New Mutants #98.
Still no word on how Domino figures into the plot.
Is '13 Reasons Why' Helping Kids Kill Themselves?
For the uninitiated, the show is based on a novel by Jay Asher and is about a teenage girl in high school who commits suicide . The second season of 13 Reasons Why will be released on Netflix sometime in 2018.
