Witnesses say the park was packed at the time of the shooting with families and tourists who ran seeking cover. When asked if the incident appeared to be gang-related, she said, "It does not appear that this is a random event".
Juhasz said she saw two people who had been shot.
The San Francisco Police Department says people should stay away from Dolores Park, where the shooting happened Thursday afternoon. "I was yelling at people, 'It's actually a gun, it's actually a gun'".
[Update: 4:10pm] According to an SFPD statement, police transported three people from the scene with gunshot wounds, but there's no word on their condition.
"I normally can handle (myself) well in these situations, but I was pretty sure I had just lost my life", Hatter said.
The SFPD posted an additional Twitter message asking for help with the ongoing investigation, while there was no official information about the shooting suspect, his whereabouts or possible motives.

The charges are related to Shkreli's operation of a pair of hedge funds, MSMB Capital and MSMB Healthcare. District Court in Brooklyn came on the fifth day of deliberations, which followed a monthlong trial.
Authorities say one man remained in critical condition Friday morning and another was treated and released.
Other witnesses said the men then scattered into the neighborhood.
Witnesses saw several people speeding away from the park in a auto, a police spokeswoman told SFGate. "Literally, the people were behind (the statue) in the middle of the day, the middle of the park, packed with kids, packed with people".
She said to the newspaper that she heard popping sounds that she first associated with fireworks.
"I've lived here for years, and this doesn't happen", Juhasz told the Chronicle.
Josh Long, who also witnessed the shooting, said he seen a man wearing a grey hoodie pulled up over his head.
