A new coaching staff can not do any worse than the last one Jeff Fisher headed that did everything in its power to put an offense on the field that was blander than plain toast and less talented than Milli Vanilla was.
But more on all that in a bit.
We now have six picks in the first three rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.
While the coaching staff and receiving corps around him has improved, Goff's sleeper status is mostly up to him. The experience in developing a productive quarterback was lacking.
The Bills declined Watkins' option in May, thus igniting the inevitable end of his tenure in Buffalo. That's a nice little setup they have going on there.
New Rams head coach Sean McVay worked wonders as Washington's offensive coordinator last season, including guiding quarterback Kirk Cousins to 4,917 passing yards and milking 1,000-yard years out of veteran receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon when they were arguably past their primes.
Turnover is expected when teams bring in new regimes, but the Bills will essentially be starting over at wide receiver, cornerback and safety in 2017.
Look Up! Perseid Meteor Shower Will Fill The Skies This Weekend
Earth is set to once again pass through the dust of the Swift-Tuttle comet, sparking the annual Perseid meteor shower. The moon, which will be three-quarters full, will make it slightly more hard to see - as will viewing from the city.
The Rams had hoped that the 5-foot-8 Austin would show more progress, but he spent the offseason recovering from wrist surgery and had been held out of training camp because of a hamstring injury.
One item remained untended to, though, the result of a low draft position and financial resources being diverted to other concerns in free agency. Only two of 13 receivers now on the roster have more than two years under their belt with those being Tavon Austin and Robert Woods.
Advantage Watkins, who was hyped coming out of a football powerhouse program and has athletic ability for days.
A difference maker, if you will. Even when he's not open, he's still kind of open because he finds a way to catch the ball.
Buffalo was busy on the trade front, also shipping Sammy Watkins and a sixth-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for cornerback E.J. Gaines and a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Rams GM Les Snead said he "definitely" wants to work out a long-term deal with Sammy Watkins. In his three years in Buffalo - the last two in Rex Ryan's run-oriented offense and with multiple quarterbacks - Watkins had 153 catches for 2,459 yards and 17 touchdowns and averaged 16.1 yards per catch.
In the final year of his rookie deal, Watkins could have left the Bills with just a third-round comp pick at the most - or he could have had a good season and the Bills could have franchised or re-signed potentially one of the league's most talented receivers.
The Rams seem to believe he's healthy again.
