It's been 10 years since gamers were introduced to the underwater city of Rapture and the iconic Big Daddy, and it looks like 2K Games plans on holding a celebration in honor of this, announcing a BioShock 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and an anniversary celebration party that will be held at PAX West 2017. Celebrating the occasion, 2K is releasing a special collector's edition for those in the USA, with pre-orders available now.
BioShock launched ten years ago today, beginning one of the most influential franchises of the seventh-generation of consoles. At the time, IGN's BioShock review called it "a monolithic example of the convergence of entertaining gameplay and an irresistibly sinister, engrossing storyline that encompasses a host of multifaceted characters".
Mattis: Trump has made decision on Afghanistan
Earlier reports said the options could involve a complete military pullout or an increase of an additional 4,000 to 9,000 troops. Trump has vowed to crush ISIS, so its expansion in Afghanistan poses an additional challenge with no immediate solution.
For those unaware, today officially marks the 10-year anniversary of the BioShock series, as the original title in the franchise debuted on August 21, 2007, and 2K Games has made a decision to commemorate the date by announcing the availability of an Anniversary Collector's Edition that costs $200 in total.
In addition to the new CE, players can also take advantage of new pricing for both PS4 and XBox One versions of BioShock: The Collection. Modeled after the first game's box art, the statue features a motorized drill, light-up components, and audio clips from the game. Taking place September 2 from 9pm-12am, the event will feature Rapture themed food and drinks as well as music from DJ Kristina Childs. For those who still need a copy of the games but are not interested in the statue, the price of BioShock: The Collection is being dropped as well.
