Sandra Bullock, actress and America's sweetheart, is doing her part to help victims of Hurricane Harvey by donating $1 million to the Red Cross relief effort. The Red Cross is also working in close collaboration with government officials and community partners in both Texas and Louisiana to coordinate potential response efforts.
In the video below, posted on August 30, 2017, Sandra is quoted as saying, "We have to take care of one another".
She said she hopes Americans can put politics aside and come together to offer relief to those who have been affected by the devastating storm.

Riley, who delivered the death notification to Sulcer's family, says they are 'staying strong " but " absolutely devastated '. At least 18 people have now been killed by Harvey since Friday, when it made landfall in Texas as a Category 4 hurricane.
The public can drop off donations at the spring training home of the Houston Astros in West Palm Beach. Red Cross, says the organization could have a call centre operational in just 12 hours if the need is there.
"There's a lot of organizations that collect goods: water, diapers, clothes and things", Larson said.
Forty seven Red Cross volunteers from Western New York, including ten from the Greater Rochester area, are in Texas to support relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Because of the need for Hurricane Harvey, they're offering it now for just $50. The red cross is always there, and we will be helping people as long as we are needed.
