North Korea pledges 'powerful counter measures' against US-backed sanctions
The US has accused North Korea of "begging for war" and repeatedly urged China to step up pressure against its neighbour. Trump and Turnbull "confirmed that their two countries will intensify joint efforts to denuclearize North Korea".
"A Benefit for Hurricane Relief" will air live and commercial-free on the four major networks and cable affiliates as well as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. "It's personal for me because it's home to me, it's in my city, but it's a national disaster". Norah O'Donnell of CBS This Morning will also participate. A live performance from Strait's benefit is expected to be shown during the telethon.
Funds raised from the Telethon will go to several organizations including the Rebuild Texas Fund, which was established by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation in partnership with the OneStar Foundation. "That's our goal - to bring the idea that people care about each other back".
