According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, the Lakers are planning to retire Kobe Bryant's jersey before the Warriors game on December 18th. Kobe played his entire 20-year career with Los Angeles, which is a record for most seasons played with one franchise.
To put things into perspective, Bryant scored 16,866 points, won three championships, and played in eight All-Star games when he wore the number 8 jersey.
"Kobe's jerseys are taking their rightful home next to the greatest Lakers of all time", Lakers owner Jeanie Buss said. Kobe also celebrated his 39th birthday recently (with a Marvel superhero cake he couldn't help but to gush over). As many of you remember, in his final game with the Lakers, Kobe dropped 60 points in a 101-96 win over the Utah Jazz. "The Lakers have bestowed a huge honor on me and I'm grateful for the fans' enthusiasm around this game". Bryant helped the Lakers win five National Basketball Association championships, and he was named Finals MVP for two of those.
Bryant will be the 10th player to have his jersey retired. Bryant will join an elite group of players, becoming the 10th player that will have his number raised to the rafters in the STAPLES Center.

Not to mention that Antoine would also be cup tied for the Champions League should Manchester United still be in the competition . After a summer where they have brought in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe they have to go far in the Champions League .
The question of which of Bryant's jersey number will be retired has been the subject of much speculation since before he even stopped playing.
Bryant spent all of his 20-year career with the Lakers.
It was always a given, but now it's been confirmed by the L.A. Lakers. "It alone daily inspires all of us to strive for greatness".
