Jose will correct this unconventional movement shortly and start traveling, ever so slowly, back to the west again on Thursday.

Hurricane Jose has gotten very little coverage, lurking in the shadows of Irma for the past several days.
Jose was downgraded to a tropical storm late Thursday morning, but it may gain strength over the weekend. Two major hurricanes, Harvey and Irma, have made landfall in the United States already this season.
The full hurricane season lasts until November 30, although the peak season generally stretches from about mid-August to mid-October. Many of our most memorable and infamous hurricanes have come in the second half of September and even into October.
While we are not now anticipating those being an issue to the Gulf of Mexico, it is important to remember we are still in the peak of hurricane season and that the season doesn't end until November 30. This would be a category 1 storm.
