Major disruptions are being reported in airports around the world following the failure of computer check-in systems.
Press handlers for Gatwick, Washington (DC) Reagan International Airport and Changi in Singapore confirmed some of the airlines operating on their runways had been affected by the outage.
A worldwide outage to a passenger check-in system has left travellers stranded in airports around Australia.
The delays were reportedly caused by a network issue in the global flight-booking system operated by the Amadeus IT Group.
Several airlines use the Amadeus software to manage reservations and check-in desks.
Such network problems are not at all unusual, but they're usually confined to specific airlines and airports. Technical teams had identified the cause of the outage and restored services, the company said, adding that services were gradually being restored.

It is not clear if all the airports facing the problem are going through the same glitch that Gatwick Airport was facing and if the issue has been resolved yet.
Lufthansa said its problems lasted a matter of minutes, resulting in some flight delays but no cancellations.
The problem has caused check-in delays and booking problems for many airlines including British Airways, Qantas, and Lufthansa.
The technology company declined to comment on the extent of the disruption.
Thursday's hiccup comes four months after a power loss and computer crash at IAG SA's British Airways led to the grounding of flights for more than 75,000 passengers.
