The federal Department of Homeland Security has given Oregon another one-year extension for compliance with the federal Real ID Act, the Oregon DMV announced Thursday. This extension means that Pennsylvania residents will not face access issues when entering federal facilities or boarding commercial aircraft through that date. Once the state is certified compliant, there will be no need for additional extension requests. Every air traveler will need a Real ID-compliant license or passport starting October 1, 2010, according to DPS.
According to the SCDMV, more than 65,000 SC residents have provided the required documents to receive a REAL ID-compliant form of identification.
Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont and Washington are the only states that now issue EDLs.
Oklahoma has received an extension for implementing Real ID compliant identification. That license contains over 20 overt and covert features to help the state to meet the guidelines established by the federal Real ID law. "But it requires time, resources and training to meet the full requirements, which we will likely be phasing in over time due to budget constraints".
So, Instagram is all over Maisie Williams' tribute to Sophie Turner
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Turner, 21, and Jonas, 28, announced their engagement on Instagram on October 15, 2017. Now that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are engaged, Joe's family couldn't be more welcoming to their family's new member.
Under the Real ID Act, identification from a state that is in compliance with the act or has an extension for compliance, or another form of ID acceptable for federal purposes, is required to access certain federal facilities. It is important to note that all Minnesota citizens will continue to have the choice to have a non-REAL ID driver's license. The news comes a few weeks after the state had initially been notified that it was under a grace period through January 22 as the federal government continued its review of states' progress.
DHS has been working with states for years around REAL ID compliance and has provided technical assistance, grants, and other support to them.
REAL ID is a mandate on federal agencies, restricting the circumstances under which they may accept state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards for official purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, military bases and nuclear power plants.
