Trevor Siemian has struggled mightily in his last few outings, so the Denver Broncos are turning to Brock Osweiler.
Broncos rookie tight-end Jake Butt returned to the practice field; Emmanuel Sanders and Todd Davis also practiced for the Broncos.
Siemian has two TD passes and eight interceptions over the Broncos' 1-4 slump, including three ugly interceptions in a 29-19 loss at Kansas City on Monday night that wasted a strong defensive effort. The Broncos officially announced the move on the team website.
It would be a shock if a switch from Siemian to Osweiler is not made by Wednesday morning.
"When you watch Trevor, even last night, he made three disgusting interceptions, I mean horrific decisions, with those three he threw last night", Joseph said.
Ease of doing business
Jailtey mentioned that GST will be factored in the ease of doing business ranking , which will further improve the ranking ahead. The US moved up two places to sixth, ahead of the United Kingdom but behind Hong Kong and South Korea.
Osweiler waited more than three years for the Broncos to toss him into the mix in his first stint with the team when he started seven games for an injured Peyton Manning in 2015.
After leaving Denver in free agency following the Broncos' victory in Super Bowl 50, Osweiler helped lead the Texans to the playoffs last season, though he dealt with a temporary benching along the way.
Paxton Lynch, who was a full participant in practice last week for the first time since injuring his throwing shoulder in a preseason game August 26, "won't be in the mix" to start Sunday, Joseph said. The Broncos signed him to be their backup before the season started. But with the Broncos deciding to bench Siemian, it looks like the Eagles' defense will have to settle with Brock Osweiler instead.
His first opportunity will come against arguably the best team in the National Football League, the Philadelphia Eagles.
"It's my job to do what's best for the football team", said Joseph on Tuesday. And for all the struggles Osweiler had a year ago as a hired gun for the Houston Texans, he posted an 8-6 record in the regular season, then played well in defeating the Oakland Raiders in a first-round playoff game.
