Nokia has just announced a 3GB RAM variant of the Nokia 5 in India. Reports said, "The online retailer is now listing a Jio - Nokia Additional Data offer on the smartphone, promising 5 GB of extra 4G data on every recharge of Rs 309 or above, limited to 10 recharges till August 31, 2018".
Apart from the upgraded RAM, both the variants feature the same internals. You can also buy it via offline retailers starting 14th November. It comes in Matte Black and Tempered Blue colours. On the front is a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
We do know for a fact that extra RAM does make a difference on Android smartphones especially when having apps running in the background. Given the increased RAM, the new Nokia 5 model will retail at INR 13,499 in the country, while 2GB version is sold around INR 12,499. The internal storage in the Nokia 5 can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. "Nokia 5 has already forged a reputation for being a beautifully crafted phone which punches well above its weight", said Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global.
'StarCraft II' goes free to play this month
Earlier this year, Blizzard released a remastered version of the original StarCraft with HD visuals and improved online features. Gamers will be able to play the entire campaign of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for free once November 14 hits.
Camera wise, the Nokia 5 rocks a 13MP sensor at the back, and a 5MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. A 3,000mAh battery completes the package.
On the software front, the phone ships with a close to stock Android Nougat operating system and as promised by the company should expect an update to Android Oreo soon enough.
Nokia 5 on the connectivity side, supports Bluetooth 4.1, FM Radio, 2G/3G/4G, Wi-Fi with a certain bunch of sensors including gyro, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, and Global Positioning System.
