Amitabh Kant, the CEO of NITI Aayog, on Monday, said that the eighth edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) would help create an ecosystem that would promote the growth of start-ups in the country. Narendra Modi will be inaugurating this three-day summit that will be held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Hitech City.
Ivanka Trump will give a keynote address at the inaugural session today, along with PM Modi. This GES will focus on developing startups belonging to these four sectors across the globe namely: healthcare and life sciences, digital economy and financial technology, energy and infrastructure and media and entertainment.
Co-hosted by the governments of the U.S. and India, the three-day summit is being given utmost importance in the light of United States presidential advisor Ivanka Trump's participation. Among the number of participating delegates, 52.5% are women, the highest so far in GES's history.
Co-hosted by the Indian and US Governments, GES is being held for the first time in South Asia. "Over 10 countries will be represented by an all-female delegation, including Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Israel", Mr Kant said.

According to the latest reports, it is reliably learned that Tollywood actor, Mega Hero, Ram Charan Tej will be a speaker at one of the key sessions of this summit. Eminent panelists such as Union defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chanda Kochhar, MD and CEO ICICI Bank, Karen Quintos, CCO, Dell and Cherie Blair, of Cherie Blair Foundation for Women will also take part in these discussions along with Ivanka. She will speak on the GES's current theme which is, 'Women First, Prosperity for All'.
The three-day event brings together 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters of entrepreneurship from more than 150 countries and territories across the world.
Juster also said that India was selected by the US government to host the GES a year ago by former US President Barack Obama's administration and that countries are chosen with regard to growing opportunities for women and creation of jobs.
