Today's announcement of the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees represents a clean sweep for vintage rock artists over more recent and more edgy performers.
Radiohead were the only act eligible for the first time on this year's ballot but unfortunately did not make it in. Sister Rosetta Tharpe will also be honoured at next April's ceremony, inducted into the Hall's Early Influences wing. 2018 Rock Hall nominees who were not chosen included Depeche Mode, the Eurythmics, Judas Priest and Radiohead.
Bon Jovi serve as the heaviest of the new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Class, starting their career with their self-titled 1984 effort, and finding their breakthrough with 1986's Slippery When Wet.
