While the exact charges filed against Wells have yet to be revealed, and details on an official cause of death is pending, new reports of negligence on behalf of the NYPD has emerged.
Wells' body was discovered at the bottom of a basement stairwell at her home in Crown Heights later that morning.
The NYPD says it has suspended two officers after questions arose about how they responded to check on a woman who was later found dead.
Neighbors alerted police after they heard crying and realized they had not seen Wells recently.
It was then, shortly before 10 a.m., that NY police officers found the pregnant 22-year-old's dead body at the bottom of a basement staircase, WCBS reported, but it wasn't the first time someone had called NYPD wondering what might be happening inside that Crown Heights home in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Kemper said Wells had bruising on her neck "and it appears as if she was either pushed or fell down the flight of stairs leading to the basement".
Neighbors reportedly called police on Wednesday after they heard cries from the couple's toddler and the sound of someone or something falling down the stairs, a police source told the New York Post.

Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said the suspect was taken into custody with the help of the New Rochelle Police Department on Wednesday night. Police officials are also looking into whether the 911 dispatcher gave the officers complete information about the incident.
