Audiobooks will be available in 45 countries and in nine different languages. If you say, "Ok Google, read my book" on a device with the Assistant, it'll start playing the last book book you were listening to.
Now, users can call upon their Google Assistant enabled device to play an audiobook, even with specific timers e.g. It is particularly useful if you use your current phone for listening during a commute, but then switch to another device when you get home. In the near future, audiobooks integration for the Assistant will arrive in Android Auto. There is a good chance that you only think of the Play store as Google's app store for Android, but it has long features support for movies, TV shows, magazines and ebooks, too. (Don't ask why it's that nonstandard price, or Neil deGrasse Tyson will probably Twittersplain it to you.) Google is also offering 50 percent off your first audiobook purchase. In addition to single titles, Audible has also been running a popular subscription service for audiobooks. Google is harping on integration of audiobooks across its platform, and it makes sense to launch given its Home speaker push.

Users can now experience their favorite literature read out to them by instructing Google Assistant to read their book, Google said. Amazon's Audible service lets you do the same, although the company very heavily pushes people towards its $15 / month subscription service.
Several audiobook titles-including some bestsellers-are now listed on Google's Audiobooks site at promotional prices starting at under $10. Just like Audible, which, of course, is owned by Amazon.
Numerous features that Google announced this week with Audiobooks are already available with Audible as well.
