The Spin 11 includes up to 10 hours of battery life for all day use.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 is a victor with the 360-degree hinge design. That resolution is a disappointment, but the Chromebook Spin makes up for it with a touchscreen and support for a Wacom stylus, as well as a hinge that allows you to flip the screen back on itself to use the laptop like a tablet.
We have hardly recovered from CES, but Acer are off at BETT 2018 the education technology exhibition based in London where they have announced two new Chromebooks. Prices will start at $349 when several models of the Spin 11 go on sale in the U.S.in April.
Google Play comes preloaded so you can run Android apps out of the box.
The big news (For me at least) is a new Acer Chromebox, the Chromebox CX13, which will be powered by an 8th generation (Coffee Lake) Intel Core desktop processor.
MX will fight tariffs on washers, solar panels
Solar manufacturer and developer First Solar supported the tariffs, and is likely to be among the biggest beneficiaries. Suniva on Monday said the tariffs were "necessary", while SolarWorld said it was "hopeful they will be enough".
Pricing and availability are not offered at this time but will be announced when regions bring this device to market. The screen is a modest 1366 x 768 resolution, the device weighs 2.78 pounds and Acer estimates that it will last up to 12 hours on a charge.
Finally, Acer is launching a Chromebox as well, called the CX13.
Beyond the ruggedness, the Chromebook 11 features a fanless design three display options-11.6-inch IPS with touch support, 11.6-inch without touch support, and 11.6-inch TN without touch support-and either an Intel Celeron N3350 or N3450 processor. This new Acer model for meetings is an affordable product with better features.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 follows its predecessors with an inexpensive price starting at $349 (versions with more than the standard 32GB cost a bit more, although the company did not say how much more). It will be available in March. RAM goes up to 8GB and on-board storage can hit 64GB of eMMC SSD.
What really has me excited, however, is the Acer Chromebox CXI3. Many Chromebook customers store their files on Google Drive (3) which protects files, documents, and photos safely in the cloud, and ensures that the most current version of the file or document is always available and safe, even if the Chromebook is lost or stolen. It's essentially a mini PC built around Chrome OS, and a powerful one at that with up to 8th Gen Intel Core processor options. You can easily hide it anywhere, thanks to the VESA mounting kit. The new Chromebox features numerous ports including an HDMI output, one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port, one USB 2.0, and five USB 3.1 ports. We should hopefully have more details about this little computer soon, so stay tuned.
