Police say Warran later admitted that she crashed the auto on objective to prove to her children that God was real and would protect them.
"She was telling us to believe in god so nothing would happen to us", one of the children told police, according to patrol auto footage obtained by WSBTV.
An Ansonia mother is facing charges after police said she left a child home alone. "She wanted us to know that God is real".
Butynski said the mother told her children, who are 5 and 7 years old, to buckle up before she "crossed over the median from the northbound to the southbound lane and drove straight toward a metal and concrete pole".

"Yeah, because she turned", one of the children said.
"It could've been a lot worse", Nocross Police Sgt. Eric Butynski told WSB.
Officers arrested Warren right after she got out of the SUV.
While no one was hurt in Wednesday's accident, Warren was charged with two counts child cruelty and was released from jail after posting $22,000 bond. Police report that the children are now with their grandparents.
