The Yankees announced Monday afternoon that the first baseman will undergo surgery Tuesday to "remove a small broken spur on the outside aspect of his right ankle" and will miss at least six to eight weeks.
He missed 2016 after surgery to fix a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Prior to this announcement, numberFire's models projected Bird to hit.248 with 24 home runs, 62 RBI, and 56 runs scored in 467 plate appearances this season.
The 25-year-old has a powerful bat but has had trouble staying healthy. After battling two straight years of injuries, Bird was planned to be penciled right in the middle of the potent Yankees lineup.
Bird returned August 26 and hit.253 with eight homers and 25 RBIs in 29 games, then batted.241 three homers and six RBIs in 13 playoff games. He declined a chance to give it a trial run in an interview, and when Stanton hit a spring training home run a couple of weeks ago, Sterling proclaimed it "a Stantonian blast!"
Narendra Modi app shares data for illegal goal , says Rahul Gandhi
Praising the Siddaramaiah government in the state, Rahul said it had worked for the poor, downtrodden and backward communities. He asserted that the Congress would win the elections in Karnataka because "it is not a new fight, but is a very old fight".
"I think it's fair that it was a contributor to him not really clicking yet", the manager said.
"You never want to see anything like that", Austin said.
The news regarding Greg Bird could have been worse, but it was far from good. Hot shot third base prospect Miguel Andujar has begun working at first as well, though it's unlikely he will be ready to play the position anytime soon.
Austin gives the Yankees a right-handed complement to Walker with more power.
"We'll play the match-up game pretty much each and every day".
"I think it went well", he said.
