The Nigerian Senate has lost another Senator, Mustafa Bukar, representing Katsina North senatorial district, less than a month after the death of Senator Ali Wakili.The death of the 64-year-old senator was confirmed on Wednesday by Alhaji Kanta Bukar, his younger brother.
Senator Bukar was elected to the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and, until his death, was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Markets.
"As we mourn his passing, my thoughts and prayers are with his family, President Muhammadu Buhari and the government and people of Katsina State".
He was at one time a Director of Special Duties on Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development in the Ministry of Agriculture.
Senator Wakili, who represented Bauchi South District, died on March 17.
After the National Youth Service, he worked as project manager for the Kaduna State Water Board and later as general manager.

Born December 31, 1954, the senator obtained an engineering degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1978.
