Donald Trump has seen the inspector general report issued by the Department of Justice in regards to former FBI Deputy Director #Andrew Mccabe allegedly lying about leaking confidential information to the media.
The report on McCabe is part of a larger investigation that the inspector general is doing into decisions and activities within the Justice Department and FBI before the 2016 election. The inspector general said that the disclosure to the Journal was made "in a manner created to advance his personal interests at the expense of department leadership".
Apparently ignoring the finding that McCabe misled Comey, Trump said "McCabe was totally controlled by Comey - McCabe is Comey!"
As of Friday evening, the Justice Department did not appear to have publicly released the report.
Trump's Twitter tirade against McCabe came on the heels of another attack on Comey, whose upcoming tell-all memoir has enraged the President.
The report, part of an inspector general examination of the FBI's handling of the Clinton investigations during the 2016 campaign, was sent to Congress on Friday - in the middle of a rush of media coverage of Comey's book detailing his actions during the investigation and conflicts with President Trump. "He LIED! LIED! LIED!"
Ever since he was sacked, McCabe has insisted that his firing was politically motivated as part of President Trump's conflict with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
A lawyer for Mr McCabe, Michael Bromwich, said he is considering filing a defamation lawsuit against Mr Trump and his "colleagues".
The investigation was about the Clinton foundation's financial dealings and what he revealed to reporters, and later withheld from investigators.
McCabe denied the report's allegations in a detailed rebuttal statement.

Donald Trump and the White House are trying to use the McCabe report to damage James Comey and paint the two as "peas in a pod", in the words of press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
McCabe was sacked by Attorney General Jeff Sessions last month, two days before his scheduled retirement.

Trump's rage about McCabe and Comey continued unabated Friday, as he used the report to once again try to discredit the investigation into his campaign's dealings with Russians. Jerry Nadler said in a statement.
But Republicans say the report shows McCabe's firing was justified.
"The Inspector General found not only did McCabe divulge sensitive information, he did it without the permission, authority, or knowledge of his supervisor", said Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican.
In a conversation with Trump when he was president elect, Comey says that the president suggested that he investigate and speak out against it. But she also disclosed that the Clinton Foundation, the Clinton family charity, was under investigation.
DOJ says it was taking its lead from the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility recommending McCabe be sacked.
McCabe was "very unhappy" about being forced off the call, according to the report.
