"Ambedkar Jayanti is an annual festival observed on April 14 to commemorate the memory of social reformer Dr BR Ambedkar and hence the government chose to hold such programmes for the welfare of people, specially underprivileged", said a senior official with the social justice department which is organising state-level programme on the occasion in the Birla Auditorium.
SP Spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said that leaders at district level would celebrate Dr Ambedkar's birth anniversary in style. Appropriately, he is considered the Chief Architect of Indian Constitution which continues to be the guiding light for the Republic of India.
He called on people to draw inspiration from the great figure of history and the great Indian.
The principal spoke on the occasion and said that Dr Ambedkar has occupied the 1st place by having founded the Constitution.

Ambedkar was born in the Military Headquarters of War, popularly known as Mhow', a cantonment area near Indore. He will pay his tributes to the Babasaheb at his memorial in Mhow and grace a function being organised on his 127th birth anniversary. Directors of the Company, Senior Officials along with employees and other distinguished personalities from different walks of life also joined the celebration and paid their homage to Dr. Ambedkar. Speaking at the function here, Modi said, the memorial is a tribute to Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
In the morning, Prime Minister Modi tweeted: "Pujya Babasaheb gave hope to lakhs of people belonging to the poorest and marginalised sections of society".
Addressing the event, Adityanath said that the BJP government has worked tirelessly for the upliftment of Dalits. The President was happy to note that Dr Ambedkar's 125th birth anniversary was commemorated at the United Nations in 2016. "We remain indebted to him for his efforts towards the making of our Constitution".
The President, the Vice-President and the Prime Minister paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb Ambedkar at his statue at the Parliament House Complex.
