While President Trump's tax cuts are expected to boost the USA and global growth in the short term, the report warned that those effects will soon wear off as well. But the IMF's chief economist, Maurice Obstfeld, told reporters that this bright outlook could be derailed by a major trade conflict.
Slovenia's average annual inflation is seen at 1.7% this year and 2.0% in 2019, following a growth of 1.4% in 2017.
The IMF urged countries to take advantage of the rise in economic growth levels in the near-term to enact policies and reforms which will strengthen "the potential for higher and more inclusive growth" and to build buffers ahead of the next downturn, including improving financial systems and increasing worldwide cooperation.
"Risks beyond the next several quarters clearly lean toward the downside", the report added.
Like other advanced economies, the United States will max out growth and return to a more sluggish pace, the International Monetary Fund said in its report, noting that stronger growth was "held back by aging populations and lackluster productivity".
