"We've tried to stay as close to the original feature sets in each game as possible, so Shenmue 1 will not have the time skip feature", a Sega spokesperson told the VG247 website. According to SEGA the games will be "true to the originals" but will offer scalable resolutions, PC graphics options, and both classic and modern control schemes.
Any video game lover who came of age in the late 1990s probably remembers the Dreamcast, Sega's ill-fated answer to the Nintendo 64 and the final major console the company would ever release.

The remastered collection, Shenmue I & II, will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year. Pre-orders for the re-release are already live, but a final release date has yet to be announced. The set will be sold digitally as well as physically for the PS4, the Xbox One and PC.
While in Shenmue 2 you could just fast-forward time in order to make progress in the game's story, the first game was notorious for making players have to wait around or do side activities (such as going to the local arcade) to pass time.
