"Smallville" actress Allison Mack was arrested Friday, accused of having a role in an upstate NY sex slave cult.
Mack, 35, best known for her role as Chloe Sullivan in CW's Smallville, pleaded not guilty Friday afternoon in Brooklyn federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for New York's Eastern District.
Court filings say that in 2015, Raniere, who also went by "Vanguard", created a secret sub-organization with NXIVM called "DOS", an acronym for a Latin phrase that loosely translates to "Lord/Master of the Obedient Female Companions", or "The Vow".
She has been involved with the NXIVM group and has associated with its already-arrested leader Keith Raniere for over a decade, even appearing in a series of videos on YouTube where she interviews her "mentor" Raniere. "The victims were then exploited, both sexually and for their labor, to the defendants' benefit", Donoghue said. Raniere, who started the group, has been charged with sex trafficking by federal prosecutors.

This time is away but I don't see any advantage, for me it's the same as playing at Old Trafford ". Last season, Hugo Lloris was brought in for the semi-final against Chelsea .
Raniere is expected to be arraigned on the indictment at a later date, according to the U.S. Attorney's office. The organization is based in Albany, New York with centers in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and South America. He was charged with sex trafficking and forced labour.
"During the branding ceremonies, slaves were required to be fully naked, and the master would order one slave to film while the other held down the slave being branded", the complaint says.
William Sweeney, with the FBI, released a statement amid the claims, explaining: 'As this pyramid scheme continues to unravel, we ask anyone who might have been a victim to reach out to us with information that may further our investigation'.
Fellow Smallville star Kristen Kreuk, who played Lana Lang from 2001-2009, was a member of the NXIVM organization, but cut ties after leaving in 2012. Clyne has not commented publicly on her involvement, while Kreuk did confirm her affiliation with Nxivm in the past, though she emphasized that she had "minimal contact" with the group after she left it five years ago.
Footage posted online showed Mack and another actress, Nicki Clyne, chasing a police vehicle after Raniere's arrest. There is now no set date for Raniere's arraignment.
