In India, the Xiaomi Mi 5 launched in 2016 is the company's last flagship smartphone under the Mi-series. Well, it appears that the third generation Xiaomi Mi Band will be announced at the same event where the Mi 8 is likely to be introduced. As suggested by previous rumors and leaks Mi Band 3 is expected to come with a Touch-Screen. Manu Jain led Xiaomi India instead chose to introduce its Mi MIX 2 as its flagship offering for 2017.
Recently, a leak has surfaced on the internet unveiling the specs of Mi 8. The rear of the box shows juicy details including the presence of dual rear cameras, above-mentioned Global Positioning System technology, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space.
The Mi 8 is launching this Thursday in conjunction with Xiaomi's 8th anniversary.
First, there was Animoji - Apple's augmented reality Emoji application that came exclusively with the iPhone X. Then there was Samsung's AR Emoji, which were the same thing but for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. It is expected that the company might also launch the Mi Router 4 and other accessories.
Interestingly enough, there's something called dual-GPS mode listed on the box and in the poster. The rear adorns a curved glass panel with a dual camera setup, stacked vertically.
In any case, all eyes will be on Xiaomi's Shenzen event on May 31st as the company has a lot to show.

The smartphone will ship with a large 6.2-inch Full HD display that features a high pixel resolution of 22800 x 1080.
But before you get too excited, know that the pure Android build is going to make way for Xiaomi's custom ROM in the coming months.
