Pruitt's statement did not mention Hupp's testimony to the House oversight committee earlier this week admitting she carried out a number of peculiar personal tasks for Pruitt, including contacting the Trump International Hotel to see if she could buy a used mattress for him.
More than 100 lawmakers, including several Republicans, have called for Pruitt to step down. Greenwalt did not respond to an email seeking comment.
"She has done outstanding work in all of her endeavors here and will be sorely missed", Pruitt said in a statement.

The focus of almost a dozen federal inquiries into his travel expenses, security practices and other issues, Pruitt was on the Hill to testify about his agency's FY2019 budget proposal. Another Oklahoma transplant who received a large raise, EPA scheduler Millan Hupp, is also leaving the agency. The senators cited repeated requests for a set of recommendations that OH coal tycoon Robert Murray had given Pruitt in 2017 on rolling back what Murray saw as "anti-coal" policies.
The vote comes after it was reported in February that the OIG did not have enough money to properly investigate Pruitt's travel expenses, noting it would have to limit its probe to 2017, leaving out the administrator's continued use of business and first class flights in 2018.
