The SCO now has eight member countries which represents around 42 per cent of the world's population and 20 per cent of the global GDP.
"One of the important outcomes of today's meeting was that the Chinese side conveyed that they accepted (Modi's) invitation to President Xi Jinping to have a similar informal summit in India in 2019", he said.
It is for the first time the Indian Prime Minister will be attending the SCO summit after India along with Pakistan became a full-fledged members of the grouping, jointly dominated by China and Russian Federation, which has been increasingly seen as a counter to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
The two leaders also agreed on increasing bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2020, and Xi said China is ready to enhance agricultural imports from India.
Xi conveyed to the Indian side that China's defence minister and Minister of Public security, who is equivalent to India's Home Minister, will visit New Delhi this year.
The declaration will hold details of the significant mechanism for resisting the global terror activities.

Modi is also said that have acknowledged the Wuhan summit as a "milestone in relationship", one which would help develop mutual understanding and trust and take the relationship forward.
Taking forward a decision made at Wuhan to work jointly on a developmental project in war-torn Afghanistan, the two leaders agreed to identify a "capacity building" project.
The SCO is a very influential structure for ensuring security, the Iranian leader said. The two militaries will continue to talk to each other to maintain peace, Gokhale said.
Under two deals signed on the sidelines of the SCO summit on Saturday, China will share hydrological data on the Brahmaputra river and amend certain requirements on Indian exports of rice other than the premium Basmati variety to China, India's foreign ministry spokesman, Raveesh Kumar, said on Twitter.
