According to the report, the next-generation earbuds are set to feature noise cancellation technology and will provide water resistance.
For these over-ear headphones, Apple is said to have discussed working with Tymphany, a Primax Electronics subsidiary that makes consumer and professional audio systems. The firm might also integrate a heart rate monitor and other biometric features to enable more health functionality. It's hard to get that much expertise in audio engineering in one place, even when you've got Apple's giant pile of money, and Apple may be relying on their name and the fact that you have to use wireless headphones or that very bad dongle with your iPhone. They are meant to be higher end than Beats headphones and are meant to compete with the high-end models of headphones which ship from firms like Bose Corp and Sennheiser.
Apple is also working to increase the distance that AirPods work away from devices like the iPhone or iPad. The new AirPods will reportedly be pricier than their predecessor.

Apple's current headphone lineup, under the Beats brand, includes $350 headphones. However, before you get excited, production of these headphones have yet to start because the deal has not been finalized.

Apple reportedly wanted to launch the headphones by the end of 2018 but development challenges have pushed the product back to early 2019. Unfortunately, there are no details about what features it might boast. Recent rumours claimed, however, that Apple could be planning a more affordable, Beats-branded speaker, in a bid to help it boost its share of the market from just six per cent.
