Real Time Astrology: March 2017

March marches along (sorry) at a fairly ho-hum pace at first, picking up the tempo by months end. This is, of course, Pisces season, with Mercury in Pisces until March 13th and the Sun in Pisces until March 20th. The most notable of the events in March has already occurred by the time of this post (sorry!): Venus stationing retrograde at 13 degrees Aries on Saturday, March 4th. Venus will remain retrograde until April 15th and will remain retrograde in Aries for the rest of March. (Venus will retrograde into Pisces in April). Venus is in detriment in Aries, meaning it has to work harder here than in any other sign to express it’s true nature. This goes double when Venus is retrograde. The focus is the turning of values inwards and away from the values of society, our values as sovereign individuals becomes more important. Venus retrograde in Aries often shows the need to stand up, defend, or fight for the right to express individualistic values. This retrograde could very well be the end of many relationships and partnerships this month; of those that remain intact, there will have to be a newfound respect for the rights of the other to have their own values that may or may not match yours. The ability or lack thereof to allow differences can be the make or break of alliances.

Mars enters Taurus Thursday, March 9th (until April 21st). Mars is also in detriment in Taurus, however it forms a mutual reception that makes up for each others weaknesses. Mars in Taurus knows a thing or two about getting scrappy where personal values are threatened. It also knows how to persevere where other placements would give out, how to keep on keeping on. This can be for good or ill; good for hanging on to someone/something really valuable when it’s under attack or being weakened somehow, bad for stubbornly sticking by someone/something that isn’t bringing a return on investment for such an effort. It may be hard to know which is which in the moment, watch out for impulsive decisions that lead to regret later on.

Mercury enters Aries March 9th and conjuncts Venus retrograde at 9 degrees on March 18th. This looks like information regarding the overall state of love, relationships, partnerships, money and such will be forthcoming and clearer around this time.

Globally, this retrograde does underscore the general feeling that people aren’t getting along very well and are maybe tired of trying to bend their values to conform to the values of politicians and talking heads and so on. Venus rules money, and with Venus weak in Aries and retrograde it does dry up financial abundance and weakens the strength of currencies, net worths, incomes, profits and so on. This should become more obvious by months end when we have the second exact square between Jupiter retrograde at 19 Libra and Pluto at 19 Capricorn on March 30th. The first square occurred back on November 24th, and the tumult of that time comes back again though seen from a new perspective (since Jupiter is retrograde). Jupiter = big, Pluto = other people’s money, power… Venus retrograde in Aries shows a clash of values as well as a fight over them and Jupiter retrograde square Pluto shows this has a greater impact on material security.

Pluto is the third planet involved in an ongoing cardinal T-square that also includes Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries. All three planets will be given a megaphone by months end, when Mercury in Aries squares Pluto on the 23rd, opposes Jupiter on the 24th and conjuncts Uranus on the 26th. The information by months end will be more focused on global news and how it may or may not affect us peons. Things do become more chaotic by months end as a result of Mercury connecting the dots of the cardinal T-square and people reacting to it. Whether you find this a good or bad thing depends on how well you’ve learned to roll with the punches!

Mercury enters Taurus March 31st. Mercury will be retrograde from April 9th until May 3rd in the signs of Aries and Taurus, and Mercury enters its retrograde shadow March 27th. The good thing about Mercury setting off the cardinal T-square is that it does so before the retrograde shadow begins, encouraging all manners of communication to come out in the open and find resolve before communication starts to go slightly awry. I’d recommend using March 13th-26th as a time to get important paperwork and networking done.

Wow this will be a drama month!
I am currently in a conflict with my sister who has been draining me for some years now. January 27th I told her I simply couldn’t put up with her ungratefulness any more, and the 1st of March she threw the emotional dumpster on me for doing that.

I wonder how this will play out the coming month. She has a strong Aries profile, Aries in the 4th house. So!
Let’s see how this will play out, right?

Also, the land lord of where I live is thinking of selling the house, so I am stressing a lot about this issue.
Saturn is transitting my natal Neptune atm (conjunct) so every fear or worry I have is pretty much amplifier these days… sucks!

March will see the planets transit my Rx Chiron, on the fixed star Algol – both opposite my Sun-Venus-Jupiter stellium in Scorpio. Brace myself, lady!!

    • Saturn transiting your Neptune is distorting your perception. Just take a few breaths and try to de-stress, it’s probably not as bad as you think. 🙂

      • LadyLaLa says:

Yeah, it is a double dose of ALL my fears! There are some conditions about which I live that makes it hard to tell the truth and *could* jeopardize my entire career, which means I’ve been lacking in a peace of mind the past months.

Saturn/Neptune only amplifies these worries and thwarts reality for sure! How long will this transit last (aka when can I expect to be free of worries?)

  5. This post really hits home in many aspects.
” Venus retrograde in Aries often shows the need to stand up, defend, or fight for the right to express individualistic values.”
I have Venus is Aries. Sure enough just before it went retrograde I was challenged. I had to stand up and defend myself. Fortunately I managed to avoid a fight but I was ready for it.
“Mars enters Taurus Thursday, March 9th (until April 21st). Mars is also in detriment in Taurus, however it forms a mutual reception that makes up for each others weaknesses. I have Mars in Taurus. Yes I can certainly get scrappy where personal values are threatened. I certainly need reinforcement. I’m on the verge of cracking from all the emotional, psychological as well as existential pressures bearing down on me. I’ve reached my breaking point. Mars entering Taurus on the 9th couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m near the point of having to tap out. I desperately need to tap into my energy reserves of power if I’m going to survive this month.
Back to Venus Rx in Aries with regards to love and relationships, I’ve long given up on both. Saturn opposing my Ascendant has scotched any notion of finding love or a relationship. I’m probably done with love and relationships for the foreseeable future. Having Venus Aries is a lifetime of frustration and unrequited love, though I’ve been fortunate enough to have been in a few substantial relationships. But the past 3 years have been a barren desert as far as that goes.
13-26 March is the period where I hope that I can get the hell out of North America for good. I’m going to have to tap into Mars Taurus to muscle my way out of here. It’s going to be a tough slog these next three weeks but I can’t quit.

  6. Venus is Rx in my 1st now and my FaceBook Friend Requests are blowing my phone up. Ha. I guess I’ll enjoy the superficial popularity of it all now until I go back to my normal reclusive self (Venus back in 12 House). I do like the networking for connecting w/ like minded people for social justice issues mainly and with T Sun, Mercury and Neptune in my 12 house right now this is how it’s playing out. Astrology never stops amazing me.
