Real Time Astrology: March 2017

March marches along (sorry) at a fairly ho-hum pace at first, picking up the tempo by months end. This is, of course, Pisces season, with Mercury in Pisces until March 13th and the Sun in Pisces until March 20th. The most notable of the events in March has already occurred by the time of this post (sorry!): Venus stationing retrograde at 13 degrees Aries on Saturday, March 4th. Venus will remain retrograde until April 15th and will remain retrograde in Aries for the rest of March. (Venus will retrograde into Pisces in April). Venus is in detriment in Aries, meaning it has to work harder here than in any other sign to express it’s true nature. This goes double when Venus is retrograde. The focus is the turning of values inwards and away from the values of society, our values as sovereign individuals becomes more important. Venus retrograde in Aries often shows the need to stand up, defend, or fight for the right to express individualistic values. This retrograde could very well be the end of many relationships and partnerships this month; of those that remain intact, there will have to be a newfound respect for the rights of the other to have their own values that may or may not match yours. The ability or lack thereof to allow differences can be the make or break of alliances. [Read more…]

Real Time Astrology: Full Moon In Virgo March 12th, 2017

The Full Moon of Sunday, March 12th (9:54 AM CST) will fall at 22 degrees Virgo. A strange mash-up, this one. The opposition between the unfocused Sun and Mercury in Pisces to the focused and industrious Virgo Full Moon looks like an effort to bring order out of chaos, something particularly relevant as the first lunation after two potent eclipses that mopped the floor with many of us (myself included). Man, what chaos. We’re still in Pisces season, still reeling from that doozy of a Pisces eclipse, still trying to summon the emotional energy to get going again. The Virgo Full Moon, while trying to set things right again through emotional control and rationale, still has to contend with a fair amount of chaos. This isn’t necessarily a tough Full Moon but it can be a headache for some. [Read more…]

Real Time Astrology: New Moon Solar Eclipse In Pisces February 26th, 2017

The second eclipse of 2017 occurs this Sunday, February 26th at 8:58 A.M. Central Standard Time. This New Moon Solar Eclipse will be at 8 degrees Pisces, the last eclipse to occur in a mutable sign for a while. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and we’ve seen from previous lunations involving the South Node in Pisces that this often means saying goodbye in very real ways in our lives. I think this final mutable Piscean eclipse will be painful in the way it will be bringing endings to many of us, though I think it will be ultimately for the best. As this eclipse is doing its own thing, we’ll also have Mars in Aries conjunct Uranus and opposing Jupiter in Libra, ushering in surprising new beginnings so there’s a lot going on here. Quick post to let folks know I’ll be unavailable for readings from Thursday, January 12th through at least Sunday, January 15th. There is a potential ice storm headed my way starting late Thursday and not clearing until late Sunday. The details keep changing, but right now they’re expecting a quarter inch of ice, which has been enough in the past to bring down power lines. We’re still very much under a Pisces stellium and I’m guessing there will be more rain -and thus more freezing rain/ice- than expected. So, I’m not scheduling any readings until this thing passes just in case I end up without power and such. Should we have a major ice storm, I might have to postpone readings longer but if so I’ll update that info here.

Thanks and sorry!

UPDATE 1/15: Thankfully, only had flickering power outages and a warmer Sunday melted off ice residue. Readings are back in service again!

Real Time Astrology: January 2017

Water, water everywhere. January 2017 is dominated by a Pisces stellium, waterlogging the psychosphere. Everything is being absorbed at the expense of mental and emotional health, clarity and direction. A recent blog comment sums up the current underlying mood circulating unspoken: [Read more…]

Real Time Astrology: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces September 16th, 2016

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 24 degrees Pisces happens on Friday, September 16th at 2:05 PM CST. While the September 1st eclipse was a near total eclipse, this one on September 16th is a penumbral eclipse, though no less complex. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse opposes Mercury retrograde at 17 degrees Virgo, squares Mars at 23 degrees Sagittarius, and widely opposes Jupiter newly in Libra (at 1 degree). It will be tightly conjunct Chiron, which is retrograde at 22 degrees Pisces. The North Node in Virgo/South Node in Pisces is at 12 degrees, so while this eclipse does involve the Moon’s Nodes it, of course, isn’t nearly as tight as the previous Virgo New Moon Solar Eclipse. However, many themes of that eclipse will be repeating themselves here, most notably the strong mutable T-square (which I covered in my previous Virgo eclipse article.)

Real Time Astrology: New Moon Solar Eclipse Supermoon in Pisces March 8, 2016

The Walt Whitman line “I am large, I contain multitudes” is fitting for this potent and complex New Moon Solar Eclipse at 18 degrees Pisces on Tuesday, March 8th at 7:54 PM CST. It occurs at perigee and thus is a Supermoon as well as a complete total eclipse, meaning that the typical large appearance of a Supermoon will instead be replaced by utter blackness, except [Read more…]
